Raising seven children has given Lisa the tremendous outlook of putting her needs second to her family’s. However, this resulted in lifestyle choices that also placed her own health as a runner-up to everything else. As a result, lack of exercise, no self discipline when it came to food and dieting stressed her out. She simply did not have time for keeping up with a strict diet plan due to the fact that raising her seven kids took up almost all of her time. What’s more, Lisa had always felt like the failure of the family since she was always embarrassed for being heavier when compared to her naturally thin sisters.
MOMENT OF CHANGE
Some time ago, when Lisa was at the doctor’s office, she observed another woman enter, who was well over 500 lbs. She remembers seeing everyone else in the office gasp and stare when she tried to sit down in a chair. In what turned out to be an awkward surprise for Lisa, she noticed that they were wearing the same outfit. When the nurse called Lisa, she remembers having hard a hard time getting out of her chair and the embarrassment of everyone else’s eyes was on both her and the overweight woman like there were “two elephants in the room.”
REWARDS OF A NEW LIFE
Before weight loss surgery, at the age of 40, Lisa felt fat and old. Now at the age of 50, she believes she makes that age look good! Most importantly, Lisa’s diabetes condition is now gone and she feels that she has amazing energy. When she’s out and about with her daughters, they are asked if she is their sister! What a compliment!
After successful weight loss surgery, the hard work that Lisa puts into maintaining her new, healthier lifestyle pays off, as she sticks to a well balanced nutrition plan and an active fitness regimen.
