I served in the Armed Forces (1970-1972), just had my 30th anniversary with my wife, I have three children, two girls and one boy. I have six grand children, five boys and one girl. I love fishing, outdoors, sports, and spending time with my family.
The Weight Gain:
I was one of those guy's who would eat the biggest burrito, hamburger, steak, breakfast, etc. Just to see if I could eat it. Chips & dip on Sunday (football). When I was at work, I'd get so busy that I would not eat lunch or take a break. I would then eat at night in front of the TV, or just before going to bed. I tried all kinda diets with no success.
The Moment of Change:
The moment of change came for me when - 1. My doctor told me "I was a perfect candidate for stroke or a heat-attack! I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high triglycerides. Six months later I lost my younger brother to a stroke. I needed a life change.
A New Life:
My life is great! I'm off my medication for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high triglycerides. My chances of having a heart attack or stroke are down. I can breath again, have plenty of energy and motivation. I feel alive again.
Off my medication, heart-attack or stroke are down. I feel good about myself again. I eat better choice foods and because of my LAP-BAND my youngest daughter is going to do it & my wife.
After the LAP-BAND surgery my diet has changed quite a bit. I eat more fish, chicken, salads, soups, and taco's. Just better quality foods. I try to stay away from junk foods as much as possible.
I have not yet started to workout at this point, But getting ready to tone-up.
