Dr. Maged S. Mikhail

Dr. Maged S. Mikhail has over 30 years of experience in both academic and private practice and has been successfully treating vein disorders since 2006. Dr. Mikhail has performed approximately 2000 endovenous ablations and is board certified in Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (Phlebology), Critical Care Medicine, and Anesthesiology. In addition to achieving the rare credential of Registered Vascular Technologist, Dr. Mikhail is a special expert in venous ultrasound as well as transesophageal echocardiography. He is one of few physicians with extensive experience utilizing the CoolTouch Endovenous Laser Ablation system and is well trained in Venefit (VNUS closures) and ClariVein procedures. Moreover, Dr. Mikhail is an internationally recognized author of several medical books and texts.

Dr. Mikhail graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine (Alpha Omega Alpha), and has post-graduate training in internal medicine, anesthesiology, critical care medicine, and phlebology. He continued his training at the Alabama Vein and Vascular Center where he worked alongside the late Dr. John Kingsley, an internationally recognized pioneer and innovator in the treatment of venous disorders. There, Dr. Mikhail honed his skills in the techniques of endovenous ablation, microphlebectomy, and sclerotherapy. Dr. Mikhail is board certified in phlebology, critical care medicine, pain management, and anesthesiology. His extensive background in cardiovascular anesthesia, vascular access, nerve blocks, needle and catheter injection techniques, and ultrasound imaging makes him uniquely qualified in phlebology. He was a former Professor of Anesthesiology and Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine, where he instructed medical students, residents and fellows for 15 years at the University of Southern California. He wrote and published a number of textbooks and numerous articles in anesthesiology, critical care medicine, pain management, and surgery.
