Varicose Vein Treatment
Varicose veins can be more than a cosmetic issue. They sometimes cause pain, itchiness and swelling in the legs. They can also cause cuts and abrasions to heal less quickly. If you suffer from varicose veins, there are a variety of treatment options available to you. Learn about our Orange County and Los Angeles vein treatment options.
Spider Vein Treatment
Spider veins can look similar to varicose veins, but they are closer to the surface of the skin. They can be blue, red, or purple and the thin visible veins tend to look like a spider web. Spider vein treatment and spider vein removal are available in our Los Angeles and Orange County area offices.
Laser Vein Removal
Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT®) differs from vein surgery and, in various ways, is a more desirable method for the treatment of varicose veins. Endovenous Laser Treatment is a minimally invasive option for vein removal in Los Angeles and Orange County.
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure intended for the treatment and removal of both spider and reticular veins. During this treatment performed in our Los Angles are offices, the West Medical phlebologist will inject a solution, known as a sclerosant, into the troublesome vein.
Compression stockings don’t treat varicose veins. Rather, they are only intended to slow down the progression of the vein problem. Compared to other varicose vein treatments, such as EVLT, compression therapy provides relatively ineffective, and only temporary results.
Microphlebectomy is a minimally invasive procedure used for varicose vein treatment. While there are two main categories of this procedure, one is significantly more invasive than the other, and our office prefers only to use the less invasive option.
Surgical Ligation and Stripping
Surgical ligation and stripping is a varicose vein treatment offered in our Los Angeles area offices. Compared to other varicose vein treatments, surgical ligation and stripping is a more invasive technique.
